One thing I want to focus on today is what about the load of stress many of us experience? For me, the experience of ongoing, everyday stress is a big fat sign - no, it’s a cry for help from our body that something needs to change. That whatever we do, is somehow going against what is truly good for us.
Our body is desperately trying to tell us a change is needed and if we keep ignoring that message, it will lead to physical ailments like skin issues. Now, I’m not saying to avoid stress always. There’s positive stress that we can experience which is short-lived. That kind of stress feels good. But this everyday feeling of being pressured, stressed out, feeling exhausted, longing for a break, not loving where you are at is definitely not positive and will have health consequences in the long run. Chronic stress will trigger immune responses. It will impact hormones and digestion, and it will therefore impact every mechanism of the body. If your skin is stressed out, sensitive and/or inflamed, you are probably too. Where will continuing on this road lead you to? No one can give from an empty cup, so make sure to fill yours.
Consciously taking time to think about and plan what action to take to achieve change, will put you in the driver’s seat of your life instead of being a bystander. When you find out and know what makes you feel more content and aligned, you can deliberately choose to do more of it.
When you find out and know what makes you feel less like yourself and drains your batteries, you will be able to establish boundaries. It’s easier to say YES to the things you really want for your life, and easier to say NO to what’s not serving you.
Life feels light and easy (even if you run into obstacles) when your cup is filled.
